Welcome to The Gathering 2023. We are expectant about what God is going to do this weekend, and we’re so glad that you could join us. More details will be available shortly.
Shawn and Laura Cardwell are raising money to open a doughnut shop in Forest Grove, Oregon, to create a place of hospitality for their community. They plan to create a sharing payment system to ensure that no one is turned away from doughnuts and coffee based on their inability to pay.
The doughnut shop will create an opportunity to hire neighbours transitioning out of homelessness and into stabilised housing. They’ve also set up a prayer room and art studio next door. Their dream is to bring people together in a place that fosters hospitality, creativity, prayer, kindness and joy.
Lot 2 – USA: Doughnut Shop Social Enterprise
Foxford Woollen Mills in in the beautiful village of Foxford Co. Mayo. The mill was founded by Sister Agnes over a century ago after she was stricken by a town scarred by poverty. She had a vision of possibility and inclusive community in starting a mill. A social enterprise was born and continues to this day. This blanket is the Wicklow throw woven in Foxford.
The slogan of the multicultural city Rotterdam is: stronger through struggle. This motto was given to Rotterdam after WWII in which the bombing destroyed the heart of the city and meant the capitulation of the Netherlands. A lot fo inhabitants relate to this saying. And so does Rotterdam House of Prayer: Romans 5:1-5. This throw is made by Kwestan who also relates to the slogan: Born in Kurdistan, North Iraq in a Muslim family, she had to flee her country. She came to know Jesus in the Netherlands.
How it works
The tradition of The Gathering Fundraiser goes back further than we care to remember, and is unlike anything you will have experienced before.
The best way to sum it up in one word is OUTRAGEOUS.
It is an opportunity for outrageous giving to some highly worthy causes connected with 24-7 Prayer.
This year, our in-person fundraiser is back, so whether this is your first 24-7 Prayer Fundraiser or if it’s the reason you’re here, read this guide:

Instructions for In-Person Fundraisers:
The in-person Generosity Fundraiser will operate very much like previous years of in-person fundraisers. Here’s how it will go:
Browse the causes and the fundraiser lots
Take a look through all of the items on offer in the fundraiser, and pay particular attention to the causes they are going to support.
Make your bids
As Brian and Keith announce each lot, you’ll have a chance to bid towards the items. Each donation will go towards the cause we are supporting, and the highest donation will win the item. Feel free to club together with friends or family to donate the biggest possible amount!
Frequently Asked Questions
How much can I bid?
We want everyone to be involved, but please only donate what you can afford to give. We’re encouraging outrageous generosity, but if you give £1 or £1000, you are still a star in our eyes.
Can I donate towards more than one item?
Of course! Donate towards as many items as many times as you like but, as hard as it may be, try not to get too carried away!
Where does my money go?
Each lot will support a different cause, and all causes are listed on the website. ALL the money received from the donations will go to that cause.
